ISU's Information Technology Services (ITS) as part of the HPC Partnership maintains a 32-processor SGI Origin 2800 called hpc2 in addition to the 16-processor Origin 2000 hpc1. This machine's configuration is determined by the Partnership and may change from time to time to meet the needs of the members. hpc2 is intended to provide partner members with access to a high-end machine capable of running very large problems. Availability of this machine to non-partner members is limited, and is discussed in Who can use hpc2?
